Description

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common complaint among pregnant women, and symptoms may persist after delivery. Effective management is essential to improve comfort and quality of life. Treatment involves lifestyle and dietary changes, non-pharmacological measures, and medications. While lifestyle modifications help most patients, some require drug therapy. The safety and suitability of each treatment during pregnancy and lactation must be carefully considered. This article reviews the efficacy and safety of available options and presents a recommended treatment approach for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
