Description
Ciprofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used for various infections including anthrax, can cause rare but severe reactions such as skin toxicity, agranulocytosis, and hypersensitivity. Tendon rupture risk increases with steroid use. The drug inhibits CYP3A4 and CYP1A2 enzymes, leading to potential drug interactions. Overdose is usually managed with supportive care, though renal failure and seizures have been reported.
