Description

A large multicentre, double-blind randomized trial in Italy compared 1-week versus 2-week triple therapy regimens of omeprazole, amoxicillin, and clarithromycin for Helicobacter pylori eradication in 909 duodenal ulcer patients. Both triple regimens were significantly more effective than omeprazole + amoxicillin alone. The study concluded that one-week and two-week omeprazole–amoxicillin–clarithromycin regimens are equally effective, safe, and well-tolerated for H. pylori eradication.
