Description
Surgical site infections (SSI) are a significant concern after operations, affecting patient recovery and healthcare resources. This study compared the effectiveness of Ceftriaxone alone versus a Ceftriaxone-Tazobactam combination in preventing SSIs. While both groups had similar early infection rates, the combination showed better outcomes by day 30, with no infections reported. Factors like older age, longer surgery time, and heavy blood loss were linked to higher infection risk, highlighting the importance of addressing these factors and choosing effective antibiotic prophylaxis.
